Might this be an I.C.E.R.C. Froggy?

Was browsing militaryphotos.net and stumbled across this:

The pic is of a US Soldier training Afghani Policemen in hand to hand....The one Afghan officer looks to be wearing a frog....rifles and face blurred per rule 5 and PERSEC.. Any thoughts?

The bezel area looks wrong to be a Frog:

The guy could be wearing a fake Frog though. You never know.

Yeah, the bezel itself looks more akin to the 8200 series frog (with the exposed metal)...

rampdude - I am the fist to stand up for our service men and women, but just out of curiosity, if the photo is already on the web, why blur the soldier's face on another part of the web? and what is PERSEC? thanks for the information!

I can see that it has an analogue face and therefor it is a fake Frogman!

Yup, as fakerooney as they get.
I saw one on eBay some time ago being sold for under $10

It would have been hilarious if it wasn't hideous.

That makes a lot more sense than it being a real one. If Afghani soldiers/cops are wearing ten dollar fake watches to work, that makes sense; if they start wearing three hundred dollar watches to work, yu have to ask who they've been taking bribes from.

Props to you for using PERSEC. Ive seen other pics on this forum with soldiers, military and saw in clear view their nametag. Where I work as an engineer we sometimes document soldiers, Marines using various machinery, instruments, vehicles and have known the importance of discretion and PERSEC.

    Thank You!

hahahaha indeed! Genuine Gs are hard to come by on the local Iraqi market and are considered a very barterable item.
