    Military Issued Casio

Any military issued fans here? I have this one issued to the MN in the early 2000's. We're not quite sure what the 228 means, maybe a unit or either an operator number?

I do have 2 more issued Casio's incoming as well!

Nice, any back stories to it?

I remember the DW9000 issued to the French military was a big thing.

    Thanks!

Unfortunately I have no stories with it, I'm still trying to figure out what the 228 is for. I do have another one with 218 in electric pen incoming, along with 2 more that were issued! Should be a great Casio few days!

The numbers, stamped or engraved are just for traceability so the quartermaster knows who each watch was issued to and can hold the individual accountable if lost. As with all in the military you “sign” for everything...

Watches that are officially produced for the military generally have a lot more details on the case back such as Gov marking, Nato Stock Number (NSN), batch number, serial number. These G-Shocks were likely a local purchase and annotated accordingly for traceability by the Quartermaster. As such any back-story would lay with the serviceman to whom the watches were issued.

:) that model. its always up on ebay for 20euros. it squeaks when u press it.

the good: its very light, very good sized, good pushers, good readibility.

if only the design would different, it would be a great edc- and sportswatch.
