    Military issued G-Shock

    Hello,

I am new to this forum and I am mainly a military watch collector. I have a few French Marine Nationale combat diver watches and among them a DW 9000 G-shock issued to the Combat divers of the Lorient navy base in 98.

The issue number is laser engraved: L for Lorient, 98 as year of issue & 166 as the issue number.

Not all those watches received engravings, especially after 1999.

    Amicalement,

    Eric

    Hi Rebec,

First of all, welcome to our G-Shock forum. That's an interesting watch back. Is that number a kind of NATO stock number? I know there are G-Shock filed for use by NAVY pilots. Nice to see also it isn't the DW-6600, DW-5600 or DW-6900 used, but a DW-9000. I think the covered buttons make this model suitable for very rough use.

    Cheers,

    Sjors

Sweet! I love the DW9052-1V G-Shock in general.

Thanks for your welcome, I am very happy to join!

The laser engraved number is a stock tracking number .

L stand for Lorient a French navy base.
98 is the year of issue
    166 is the issue number

It seems the M.N. did mark their watches in 98 and not afterward.

Those tough watches had a hard time and I know a lot of them didn't survived as they were simply destroyed.

    Cheers.

    Hi Eric,

Welcome aboard to WUS. That DW-9000 like it has taken some abuse over time. They are some tough watches though. Here is a pic of mine.
