That is a really great mod Dave. Improves on an already great looking piece. No mean feat!

Did that to my Navy frogman a while back... I didn't like it. I personally think it looks nicer standard, the red makes it look too much like a toy.

Pics look great but jhericurls has a point of caution. But based in the pics alone it gets a thumbs up. #jealousashell hehe

The 7900's are my favourites, although the 56s are currently my focus. But nothing is excluded, except pink Risemans.

Ha! I was actually (initially) thinking of painting the letters yellow/goldish yellow to match my uniform but decided not to. The red looks awesome and ties into the eye really nice.

thanks for all the replies. i do like this mod, but the more i look at it, it seems like maybe too much of a contrast. maybe gray would look better?

it does look a little "toyish" to me too (like others have mentioned).

this is definitely something that's easy to swap out, so i think it'll work for the right occasions, but for everyday use I may have to go with something a little less "in your face".

Re: Minor Mod to My Men in Navy Frogman

I am now in possession of a SPARE Men in Navy Resin set! A buddy of mine ordered it and didn't like the color so switched it out with the black band/bezel. Anyone interested in the spare set? I was thinking of keeping them for something, but would rather offer them up to someone who might want the Men in Navy look without having to buy the watch.

I'm working on finding parts now for other colored resins for THIS watch, so I can swap as necessary. I like the color scheme on this module (red eye) so a few things come to mind, like maybe the GWF-T1000BS, maybe replicating that a bit.

That looks great! I have been contemplating doing the same mod. It kinda reminds me of the Union Jack! It makes the red lettering stand out nice. The lettering looks more of a red shade than the pinkish shade that my eye picks up sometimes.
