    Model differences - G-5600-1JF and GWM5600-1

Sorry for a new thread on this but I couldnt find through searching.

What is the difference between these, other than Japan made and a few visual changes on the case design. Are the features the same? I want to get the most classic looking original G-Shock but with the most modern module features. Thanks.

G-5600-1JF (Casio G shock Radio Atomic Controlled Japan Made)

    and
GWM5600-1 (Casio G-Shock Solar Multiband Atomic Watch)

The G-5600 is tough solar and no atomic time sync function. The GWM5600 has both.

    Refer here:

    and

The GW-M5600 would be the newer model. However there are newer model in the G-5600E which is the tough solar and atomic version of the DW-5600.

Have a look at this thread: https://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=65908

I recommend the GW-M5600 because it fits the description 'classic looking - modern features' the best.

Thanks for those links, that is exactly what I am looking for - I will read up.

This ad had me confused : http://www.creationwatches.com/produ...-1jf-1789.html as it lists the G-5600 as atomic.

Usually you can tell from the letter prefix of the model number (which has had several dedicated threads). Although it doesn't *always* go this way typically the prefixes go as follows: DW = standard G (non solar, non atomic), G = tough solar, GW = solar atomic. One notable exception to the rule is the GW-200 series of Frogmen which are solar only.
