Which model out of these for my First G-shock?

Well, I'm going to buy my first G-shock But I don't know which one to get. They are all Tough Solar and Atomic, But I was wondering which one would last me the longest.
Here are the Models: Amazon.com: Casio Men's GW5600J-1 G-Shock Atomic Tough Solar Watch: Casio: Watches <-- Number 1
Amazon.com: Casio Men's GW530A-1V G-Shock Atomic Tough Solar Watch: Casio: Watches <--- #2

I would get the GW-m5600, but that extra 30 dollars is just a combo breaker for me unless it lasts another 30 years.
P.S. Don't tell me to buy both as I don't plan to become a collector as that wouldn't be economically viable for my young age.

The correct answer always contains the term "5600"

I would buy the DW Version, but I really like the Atomic feature. And I don't have the necessary tools to change the battery when the time comes.

5600. I'd say this is going to be the unanimous decision here.

Okay. GW5600 it is :) I only have 1/3 of the funds though. XD
Now I know that the Solar Cell or rechargeable battery will die, but after how long? I want it to be around 10 years but i dont know how that is possible. Put it on Power saver, barely use the Backlight?

Most rechargable batteries only have so many cycles in them and you normally recharge lithium batteries at 50%. The thing is, on a solar G the battery is in a constant state of cycle. I don't think it matters how much or little you use the features. The shelf life is simply what it is. Nothing lasts forever.
A G is made to be used. They are not worth having if you're afraid to spank the battery and use them for what they are made for.

But isn't it possible to change the battery?

You're better off choosing the DW now and saving some money for all those tools you'll need to replace all those batteries that are going to quit on you.

The rechargeable cell in G-Shocks will probably last you close to 10 years, if not more. Assuming it's not defective, of course.

As far as not having the proper tools to change a watch battery...on a G-Shock you're talking roughly $10 in tools that are really easy to find, and useful for other things as well. It's a one-time cost versus paying some random person at the mall $15 every time.

Screwdriver ($6)

Shop for Husky 6-Piece Phillips and Slotted Screwdriver Set - 74501 at The Home Depot

Tweezers ($1):

STAINLESS STEEL JEWELRY WATCHMAKERS STRAIGHT TWEEZER - eBay (item 280630969787 end time Mar-17-11 23:06:49 PDT)

Silicone (aka dielectric) grease to lube up the gasket inside the watch:

Buy a DANCO 0.5 Oz. Silicone Faucet Grease - 88693 at The Home Depot
Simon

WTB - More wrists
