    modern day dw56rt

Hi I'm new to the forum so sorry if this is up already!
I'm after a watch to complete interval training and a G would be my choice but Icant find an equivalent with interval timers like the dw56rt. I know that casio does the w756-1av and the ae1300 whch have similar modules but would love a5600 style g shock with the extra countdown timer facilities. any ideas?
    thanks in advance

I have a DW-56RTB. Maybe a G-7700 or G7710 but I am not sure of the number of repeats. If I remember are limited but I could be mistaken. I had both the 77XX series and the AE-1300. I preferred the AE-1300. It is tougher than you think and when exercising the AE-1300 buttons are easier and quicker to press. And the digits are a whole lot easier to read than on the 77XX. I thought I had pictures of the 77XX series (I had both the positive and negative lcd) and the AE-1300 which I gave to a neighbor for reffing Soccer.

Thanks for that. Yes the 77xx is 5 repeats only. Really im after an ironman in a g shock form!
For the price the ae1300wh looks a risk free winner

Truly the AE-1300 is, IMO, the best choice.

This is nowhere near as robust as a G-Shock but it has the same module that is in the G56RT, with the addition of a vibrate function.

Mine is my go to workout watch if I am doing interval training. I also wear it to bed if I am using earplugs, the vibrate alarm has never failed to wake me from even deep sleeps.

Yes the rft100 was also on my radar but cant seem to find any for sale. Think like the dw56rt they're now discontinued. Though why casio stop producing these great sports watches ill never know?

You can find them on eBay pretty easily if you are okay with using that site. I don't think it is discontinued as it is still listed on their website. It isn't the most popular model as it is designed for referees. However, these features make it a great interval timer for average people too.

I think it is my favourite module. If I could find a minty DW56RT I would probably get one.

The RFT100 is the bit weaker in water (50m only) and shock resistance, plus slight bit weird looking. But other than that, it's the closest to the DW56RT. It's still available new (imports from Japan), if you're willing to pay higher than its suggested retail price. Or you can look for it used in the Bay, like Idkfa suggested.

From time to time you can find new ones on eBay at MSRP:

The RFT-100 is cool looking but other than looks and vibe. I would rather pocket the $60USD difference and keep the AE-1300. Now, if hte RFT-100 were say, $40 then I would pick one up.
