In short, looking for something other than a 6900 in a 6900 bezel.
I usually wear a 44mm analog dive watch most days, but for certain tasks it sucks, timing things in the kitchen, timing runs etc. I've owned at least 4-5 G-Shock watches in the past and I am a fan of their ruggedness and value for money, as well as the obvious benefits of a digital watch. I recently bought a 5600 series which just feels too small on my wrist so I'm looking for something else that is comparable in size to my dive watch so it doesn't feel weird when I switch watches.
Here's the thing; I think that the GW6900 might be just about perfect for me but I've owned it before and am interested in something a little different. I like the 6900 series shape and size but I've grown tired of the 3 eyes, especially on the DW variants as they're not really even functional.
I really like the 9052 module but I don't like the size/ shape of the bezel and buttons. I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to my question regarding putting a 9052 module in a 6900 case - not going to work, right? So my question is: is there anything similar to this module that will fit in a 6900 bezel? Or any other recommendations?
I recently saw an old 6900 with a 1449 module, which looks really similar to the 9052. I really liked it but I wasn't going to pay the $70 asking price for something with potentially shady electronics/ water resistance etc. I don't know if there's any way to get my hands on that module or that watch without just waiting for a 'vintage' one to come up on eBay.
All I'm really looking for from a module is time, day/date, count down and stop watch.
I may just end up with a GW6900 again, or even a DW6900 because it's so cheap. That plastic clasp just bums me out though.
