Unhappy More Timex Humvee woes! EL help needed.

    Hello again!

Timex really doesn't seem to like me!

Whilst showing the impressive 'night mode' to my good lady a weird thing happended and suddenly half the display stopped lighting up!

The display appears fine when normal but doesn't fully function with the EL turned on.

Any ideas if this can be easily fixed? Could it be a battery issue? ( I doubt it )

I've took it to bits and had the module out but there doesn't seem to be anything obvious I can fix?

(thats not a shadow on the display by the way thats how the El is now)

i'm sure the EL is one unit, so it looks as if something has fallen down, obscuring the EL

Typical Timex quality I am afraid.

No comparison with Casio G shocks I think.

maybe its cracked, but how would it crack behind a sturdy watch case?

My guess is going to be that it has something to do with the the original problem with the condition it was in? Was this the 1st time you tried the EL?

No, I've used the el a few times without problem and now it's jsut failed. It's not cracked or anything else, just a complete fail. I've now destroyed the whole display trying to locate the problem and the whole bloody thing is only fit for parts now! Gonna try the seller again and see what he has to say.

Re: More Timex Humvee woes! EL help needed.

From what i see in the photo, the whole module is badly placed inside the watch and some parts of the watch are badly placed too (I'm talking about the 4 black (screws?) on the bezel...Seems like previous owner not only has used this watch, but he tortured it very hard! I don't believe that Timex quality is anywhere near to a G-Shock..someone can figure this out by just watching high resolution photos of Timex watches..personally i've tested some watches and they were made like toys!!! Sorry, (I think lego bricks have better quality...) I don't know if a Humvee exists as brand new but I suggest you to forget the seller and get a new if you can and persist with Timex..

Sorry about my words for Timex (maybe you like very much those watches), but you can see clearly that their quality is very bad! They don't even have a good designing team! Their fonts, logo, and general watch design shows us that they are "cheap" badly made watches for a wide market of people who don't care about quality but for features...Maybe some models are better than others (specifically in features) but their construction and design are very bad..

I'm sorry for your watch Hoochy, (I can't even watch the photos because everytime i find a new fault..every part looks askew!) i hope that your next one will work perfectly!
