Most Expensive G-Shock In The Market?

Anyone knows which G-Shock watch has fetched the highest price ever in the international market? Is it the Gold DW8200 Frogman or WW-5100 or some other model which I don't know of?

I don't know about rare model resell prices, but this one retails at 189,000 Yen. A popular limited edition, I think. Still available at a few places from 151,200 Yen.

Yup...I'd say that model is even more expensive than the most pricey Oceanus.

I think they should make a few different colour versions of that MR-G...all black doesn't do much for me.

I have seen a Frogman go for about $1500US though...which just astonishes me. Mad collectors.

I don't think they can do too much with the colour because of the DLC coating. Probably only black, dark grey, or anything in between.

I actually prefer the non-blackened titanium look. It has a nice lustre, and if it's DLC, then it'll look good long term despite some abuse. If you look at the silver Oceanus range...some of those look great. I do like black faces, but for me, that one is just too black and dreary. The Giez models look better to me.

A few years ago a Japanese collector paid the Yen equivelant of roughly $5000 for a MIB DW-5000C-1B, the rare 'gold' version of the first G-Shock. That's the highest I've seen.

Whilst in Photos the MRG looks jet black, in the flesh it is actually a very dark gun metal colour (quite distinctive actually) and not a true black like the Oceanus 700 which uses the same module apart from the tide graph.

I have both watches and the colour difference is clear when they are side by side.

I agree. I've had two MRG's and the color if the pictures just don't do it justice. The 3000 I had probably was one of the coolest looking colors I've seen.

I'd be interested in a mini review of your MR-G if you're inclined.
