MRG-G1000D show on the little dial (8 o'clock position) UTC *only*?

    Hi all,

A brand new MRG-G1000D-1ADR came to me... I am more or less happy

The little dial at 8 o'clock position is used for the stop watch function. OK, got it!
Contrary to the german language brochure it can only stop max. 24 minutes (and NOT 24 hours, as it says in the brochure)
Not very useful for a private pilot, max. 24 min is just the time for touch and go and go-around again.
Besides this, the stop watch function is difficult or impossible to read, if the hour or minute pointer is around this area.

    Here comes my real issue:

I am in the 'PAR' (Paris, Europe) Time Zone. Retrieved via GPS and DCF77 - Sync is OK
In 'Timekeeping' mode, the MRG-G1000 shows in the lower left hand the UTC time only. ???
Even if I manually change to another time zone - the little dial show UTC! Other watches
allow to show the current time in the selected time zone on the main dial and the little dial
shows 'time at home' or such.

There is nothing said in the manual, Casio Europe did not reply until now to my emails.

Anyone has a clue please, are there other settings to this dial possible, besides UTC?

Btw. I did explain the the very unusual 'Loose Crown' here: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f17/mrg...n-1826090.html
In think, it's not loose, it's by intend!

    Shame on me!!!
After reading the manual 5 times over and over again (well, good english, but still in the Japanese way of thinking) I found:

    - pull the crown to the *first click* will set the small dial to the time zone, whatever you select,
    - pull the crown to the *second click* will set the main dial to the time zone, what ever you choose.

    aha!

    Those manuals are a challenge

    Thanks for reading my post
