    MTG 1500 or MTG 1000?

Does someone have both? Do you have any opinions as to which of these are better?

    Thanks!

I don't have them, but the difference seems to be crystal clear.

    the 1500

    - unlike the 1000, has light function, which is very important.

    - has tough movement function, though I personally think it's overkill since the 1000 shouldn't have any problems with hands being incorrect anyways.

    - has digital and analog readings in the same dial, which I don't like because it has the appearance of less 'class' than all-analog-reading ones. i guess this is a personal preference issue.

    the 1000

    - is a near-perfect watch in every aspect(design, functions, toughness, price, class) except that it lacks any lighting function.

The MTG 1000 has no lighting feature?

Cool Re: MTG 1500 or MTG 1000?

My preference is for all-analog or all-digital. That is why I have the MTG-1000 and GW2000BD. They are both without light (in the tradition of other analog watches). They both have lume but the GW2000BD lume is better than the MTG-1000. The GW2000 is the better value of the 2. JMO

I'm confused about the light. In the ads of both, they say there is a light.??

From the Casio USA web site, all I see is this.
"Neo-brite luminous hands and markers" on the MTG-1000.

    kingtipper,

do you want an all analog watch or an analog digital hybrid? which do you like the look of more? can you afford the somewhat higher expense of the 1500? what is your gut telling you?

    Atomic,

Great thoughts and questions. My gut is telling me that the MTG 1000 is better looking than the 1500, but the functionality (ease of getting around and modes) are better on the 1500. I can get the MTG 1000 for around $250, and the 1500 for $350ish. I can afford both.

BUT... a deal-breaker to me is if one of them does not have a light for night viewing. Also, I am concerned about the size of reading things (date, modes, etc) on the MTG 1000. My eyes are not terrible, but not young either (4 yrs old).

2 Cents here - for what's is worth, my mtg1000 is the best looking analog watch I own. The fit and finish are superb, and the solar/atomic combination should give me years of worry free service.

Wow! Very nice! Another reason I may spring for the 1000 over the 1500, is that I cannot find a gold one. The only 1500s I can find are the red ones.
