MTG S1000 Links' Bars sticking out

    Hi guys,

Just got my MTG S1000 and noticed not all the bars are in all the way and one or two do actually pop out after wearing it. I guess it shouldnt be like that so what could I possibly do to get the bars to stay in? Have GST B100 and the bars are spring loaded and once in there is no way they can pop out but it looks like bars on the MTG S1000 are just pushed in and there is nothing holding them in place.

Any ideas what can I do to make sure they stay in?

    Many thanks!

No watch, let alone one as expensive as the MT-G, should shed bars like that so I’d consider making a warranty claim if you can.

    Did you buy it used?

I can see a few scratches on the sides of the links suggesting it's used and someone, who didn't know what they were doing has been trying to adjust the bracelet.

Each link has a bar and collar which sits inside the bracelet link. These collars are tiny and easily lost.
If the bars are freely sliding out then the collars are probably missing.

Looking at your pictures the only problematic one is in the last picture.
Push it back in and if it doesn't stay firm you will need to source the collars or just send the watch back.

Yep, my first thought too. Looks a lot like someone tried to resize the bracelet and stuffed up reinserting the pins and collars (which can be finicky and often end up left on the watch tool or lost to the carpet gremlins).

Cheers guys, that helps a lot. And yes, I bought it used so at least I can return it under ebay rules. But before I do so, am I right thinking the watch itself (well, the bracelet) is not damaged in any way and just need a collar or two? Also, does the bracelet have an H link (photo) instead of being made out of the same links?
    Many thanks!

Push out the bar in the direction indicated by the arrow over a white piece of paper, or similar, preferably use a tray to prevent loss as the collars are tiny.

If nothing falls out check the holes on the inside of the link. One side will be slightly wider than the other to accommodate the collar. If nothing drops out and the hole is empty then that's a problem.
The collars may be hard to purchase.

Ok, thank you very much, CC. I will speak to the seller and see whether he wants a return or cover the bill from Casio.

One last thing - luna (or however it is called) - is it just mine or is it supposed to fade away pretty quick? Its beautiful once exposed to light but it gone in no time - thought I could still use it at night but its gone in the evening. I guess its what they are like but does it really work ok for such a short period of time? Does Casio specify the time frame for this feature?

So no Collars found in the loose links?

The Lume can fade pretty quick and is not reliable for long term night legibility.

Don't know how experienced a watch buyer/user you are but some things you will learn to look for in future purchases, a light up function may be one of them.

For me personally MB6, Solar, Light Function and Battery Indicator are must have.

Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Re: MTG S1000 Links' Bars sticking out

Sorry, no collars. All I found in the box were 2 links and 2 bars - which kind of indicates the problem straight away for somebody in the know.

I guess I will learn with time - fortunately ebay makes it pretty easy these days so returning faulty items is as easy as it gets. Will contact the seller first though and hopefully he will be happy to pick up the bill.

Im not really that bother about the light at all tbh but was hoping a $1000 watch would have Lume that can stay on for some time, I love the look but - like you said - its not really a reliable feature.

How about the H link - I believe it has to be original but just kind of feels odd. Even my cheap GST B100 has all the same links.

    Cheers!

It may be likely that the seller was not even aware of the collars at all. Maybe he was selling the watch because the bracelet kept falling apart??

You might want to first find out if you can easily obtain replacement collars. And I wonder how many are missing from the bracelet?

Btw, the follow-on model to the MTG S1000 was the MTG-G1000. The G1000 is a bit larger, but does include a light function for the dial. Also btw, there is a newer-still model of MTG, the MTG-B1000, that has Bluetooth for connecting to your phone, and the B1000 also has a light function for the dial. The B1000 is quite a bit smaller than the G1000, and even a little smaller than the S1000 MTG.
