    Muddy Buddies - Oct 2006 (Lots of Pics!)

    Well Sjors, I said I going to post some OT pics of an event I photographed this week end and here you go:

    Muddy Buddies Race event was held in my home town of San Dimas this year and it was fun.

    Description:
    "Each race features a 6-7 mile course & 5 obstacles. At the start of the race, 1 team member will run & one will ride the bike. At the 1st obstacle, the rider will drop the bike, complete the obstacle, & begin running. The runner will arrive & complete the obstacle, then find their bike & begin riding. Teams will continue trading off & leapfrogging each other through the entire course. At the end of the race, racers will crawl through the infamous Mud Pit & then cross the finish line together!"

    " To all our Partners in Grime, welcome to the 2006 Muddy Buddy Series. This unique trail running and mountain biking adventure race is sure to be fun and challenging for everyone, and of course, we will have the infamous mud pit at every event! Our team is working hard to make this year the best series yet, so grab your buddy and prepare to get dirty!"

    Muddy Buddies is an event that takes place across the USA and one of the major sponsors is LAnd Rover:
    * Orlando - May 13, 2006
    * San Jose - June 11, 2006
    * Boston - June 25, 2006
    * Richmond - July 16, 2006
    * Austin - August 6, 2006
    * Boulder - August 20, 2006
    * Chicago - September 10, 2006
    * Los Angeles - October 29, 2006

    This event seems normal at first until you have time to take a look around! Muddy Buddies Los Angeles, really its San Dimas was sold out and there were 1000 racing pairs:

    Lost of racers from all walks of life!

    WTF? :-D These guys were voted best dressed. J/K

    The Mud Bog! - Racers have to traverse thru this 20 to 30 ft mud bog to the finish line! The official rule was they had to crawl and the audience yelled out "On your stomachs as the racers came though."

    Here is one of the obstacles. At this point of the race, these gals were tired and team members and fellow racers helped each other carry the bikes over the barrier.

    Ba Donk E Donk?

    Thanks all.

    Hi Jason,

    That's an awesome set of great funny, emotional and action pictures.

    This one is funny, a pair of three bananas walking into the hands of a Gorilla:-D:

    And this one is cute, the Devil helped by an Angel:

    Great pictures. Let me bet.... You wear the Mudman???

    Cheers,

    Sjors

    Yeah, I wore the GW-9000. I should have taken a picture!

    I didn't even think about the Devil and Angel helping each other. Great catch!
