    Mudman..Gulfman..or Riseman

I'm in the market for a g-shock, the solar powered/atomic set kind. I'm trying to decide between these three. I can't seem to piece together their differences and similarities. What are the benefits of each and which would you recommend? Also, can I take the rubber strap off and put on a cloth strap on all of them? Thanks!

I am in your same position. Undecided

The riseman is the most costly of the 3 and got alot of extra stuff like barometer,thermometer,... so i just didn't consider it for its price tag

Now what i really should know is the difference between the mudman and the gulfman.?

Aside form the shape i think there is no particular differences between the two.
Am i correct to say that a Gulfman got no tide graph and moon phase on the solar/atomic version?

For sure the Gulfman is titanium based and the other 2 are not.

But my question again is. Does non titanium g-shoes rust with time and the buttons get hard to press with time or not? Cos if not what is the advantage of having a titanium watch?

Sorry but i always had these questions in mind and maybe it will help don in his search too with abit of my brainstorming

The Riseman is not big at all. I would say is pretty much up to par with the Mudman, except for the sensor that protrudes a little. I've never had a Gulfman, so can't comment on that one.

Mudman is cool if you need two stopwatches, and the Rally Mudman is cool because of the timer/stopwatch functions as well.

I like the Riseman because for me it's got what I really need, like the barometer function to predict the weather.

titanium is lighter than steel, and it has higher resistant for rust

if the watch has a lot of contact with sea watch, then titanium is not a bad idea.

i like Riseman (GW9200) the most because of the 24hr CDT, current time being shown in all mode except for altimeter mode, and a altimeter for your reference

rustresist. but then I never heard much complaining about rusted resin either..

    @ donrikkles,

out of the three, I think the riseman has the most advanced module followed buy the (non-atomic) mudman.

the mudman is probably the most indestructable of the bunch due to its integral case/buttons structure.

the gulfman (atomic) has probably the best look of all three, but sadly only a 60min CDT.

if only one is an option, I would personally choose the riseman.

    There are 2 advantages:
    a) the watch weighs about 2g less
    b) if you store the watch for 20yrs in a bucket of salt-water, it will not rust.
