Mudman (and mostly Timex) does Rocky Mts on 1st day of summer

Hello all. I went for a hike yesterday up Moose Mt. here in Alberta, Canada. The plan was to leave around 6pm and watch the sunset (9:51pm); it was sunny and hot when I left, but when I reached the summit, where there was quite the party going on (summer solstice people, but the solstice was the 20th around midnight???) the sky turned threatening and the park warden, who lives up there in a small cabin to watch forest fires suggested we may want to leave. So I didn't see the sunset. Anyway, here's some shots of my Timex trail runner, which I wore for the hike, and my mudman, which I brought with me in my bag. I reset the Timex at the top, so my distance only shows .028K or something; it was a 7.25K hike to the top.

They looked a bit threatening. The fact that the look-out was, only three days before, buried in giant 13ft drifts of snow according to the warden, and that the clouds were fast approaching made me think it was time to head down.

I'll be heading into Banff in a couiple of weeks.
Did your Mudman receive the Atomic time signal OK while you were there?

What camera did you use for the great pix?

I live in Calgary, which is about 1.5 hours at the most from Banff. I synch with no trouble in Calgary. I've never been in Banff while my atomics tried to synch, so I don't know how they'd do. I imagine there should be no trouble, despite the mountains. For the shots I used my (older) Canon S2-IS, with Av mode for most quick shots and super-macro (0cm distance focus!!! i.e.: it will focus right on the lens itself) for my close ups. I've been considering a DSLR, but hiking with one could be annoying; I like to go light and fast.

I like Calgary. Been there several times to visit a friend. He is currently out of country so have not been there for a while. Also like Banff. Lake Louise for honeymoon and 20th anniversary. Beautiful country.

I had the S1-IS, now have the S3-IS. They are great cameras. I like the LCD viewfinder, with all the data in front of my eye. I just wish it were higher resolution. I also use a Canon 710IS and 720IS. Good for macro as well, and more portable. Just not as versatile IMHO,
