I think I remember the "normal" Mudman having two options for EL duration.

...and it would seem that page 3 of the users guide (http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/world_man.../en/qw3031.pdf) confirms my thoughts.

The Rally Mudman (GW-9010) has an adjustable backlight with either 1.5 sec or 3 sec duration. Just press 'adjust' till the citiy code starts flashing - then press 'MODE' three times until the seconds start flashing and the illumination symbol appears in the lower part of the display - then press 'RESET/SPLIT' to change between 1.5 and 3 sec (smaller or bigger illumination symbol).
