    My DW-5000SL-1ER just came in.

Last wednesday I won a bid on Ebay for a new DW-5000SL-1ER. Today the postman came to deliver it. :)

    So here are some pics:

First impressions: good feel. Not too light, not heavy either. One con: the contrast of the display isn't as good a the contrast of recent G's. Maybe that's one update they should have done.

Nice looking G! Love the screwback and those tins are a nice perk. Congrats.

This is an alternative way to feel those classic G's (DW5000C etc.). Cheaper too. Congrats!

Very nice - glad you like it! About the display - Casio never updated the module of the classic DW-5600 until just very recently - now there's a new module with exactly the same features but with an auto-calender till 2099 - don't know if they also did something about the contrast. At least now we have a new module to put in our old DW-5000SL after 2039 (not that you really need it - just setting the watch 28 years earlier should do the trick I believe).

    I think I'll just buy a new DW-5000 in 2039. LOL. :D

    Thanks for the replies.

I like the watch, but next to the contrast, the case and the strap shoud have been a little larger.
But don't talk me into a GX-56. That one looks too much like an oversized toy. I like the 5000/5600-design better.
