    THX 1138

But Pulp Fiction, The Green Mile, Festen and 2001 a space odyssey are pretty good films too.

    Cheers,

Re: My Favorite -- My Favorite -- My Favorite movie

my favorite movie of all time? well that is very hard to tell since there are so many great movies.

but if I could take only three with me on a lonely island, it would probably those:

A few good man is in my opinion a perfect thriller and also one of the best roles for jack nicholson and tom cruise I have ever seen. it is one of the rare movies which I can see over and over again and it never gets boring.

for my tatse clearly the best science fiction movie ever made. actors are great, story is great and tension is almost too hard to handle although the whole alien series is great, I like the second part best.

I love submarine movies and this is my favorite (but only with very little advance to "crimson tide" and "das boot"). sean connery is stunning and I think alec baldwin had the role of his life.

    regards, holger

My all time favorites would have to be in no particular order: The Godfather, Scarface, Braveheart, The Departed, Goodfellas, Shawshank Redemption, and Casino royale. Daniel craig is by far the best James Bond to date.

Probably Casablanca, Dr Strangelove, or Mon Oncle (Jacques Tati). I thought La Strada was the best film I had ever seen just after I saw it, but it was a long time ago, and now I can't remember much about it...

Of more recent films, Schindler's List, not only because it's a wonderful film, but because I know the Krakow locations very well.

Re: My Favorite -- My Favorite -- My Favorite movie

Wow, hell of a thread. Too many to mention from this movie buff.

Just rambling through some standouts, I guess is the best way to do it for me.

Heat.......Syriana.....Kingdom of Heaven (Directors cut)....Conan the Barbarian.....Empire of the Sun.....Payback...Bullit....The Great Escape...
...Unforgiven.......BladeRunner......Cool Hand Luke....see what I mean about too many to mention from various actors and directors. I haven't even mentioned one Quintin Tarrantino film there and there are quite a few. Not to mention the Kurosawa movies.

I was going to say Fight Club, but rule number one of fight club...

    P.S. Tyler says Use Soap!

EDIT: had to add Braveheart to the list.
