    My First Froggie......

I have been collecting G's for about two weeks. I want to first thank Pete W for his patient, insightful, and overall awesome mentoring!!!! :thanks

My general goals are to only purchase out of production models. I strongly prefer models where the current time is displayed when the stopwatch function is active, as I use the stopwatch on my 4-year old run of the mill DW9000 all the time. Not into analog watches at all.

So, this one's on the way, thanks to Linus, who's exceptional to deal with. :thanks

    Warm Regards, Eric

    Hi EMan -

Congratulations on your purchase of this rare Men In White/Grey FROGMAN

Did you know this model has the DW-9900 module?

That should work well for you

    Thanks Elliot!!

I'm not yet familiar enough with the DW-9900 module, so please add a couple of brief points if you would!!

I'm pretty sure it does show current time while the stopwatch is running, which as I noted above will be a requirement for most my Shock Hunting.

    Kind Regards, Eric

No it doesn't, it's the same DW-8200 module that other DW-8200 Frogmen have (the old 1294 module, just look at the watch and you can see it immediately).

e-Man, the DW-9900 is actually a model number, not a module number -- the DW-9900 is a different Frogman.

    Thanks, Atomic

That's why I respectfully asked about the DW-9900 - didn't quite make sense to me, even though I'm an uber-newbie :-S

I'm sure the poster was coming from a different angle - that often happens in hyberspace when we're spanning countries and languages.

    Warm Regards, Eric

Here's a link to a Japanese page showing some DW-6300 series, DW-8200 series, DW-9900 series as well as the current GW-200 series Froggies

    http://ww1.tiki.ne.jp/~tokio/tokio/g-shock/g-shock.html

Of the 4 series, the 9900 is the smallest of the lot but also rather comfortable to wear :-D

Here're a few pictures of my past Froggies, some in their original state, some refurbished

Thanks, Wongster!! What's the exact model number on the first two??..

I think the second one is the Brazilian, so that should be easy.

That first one really catches my eye!!! I'm concerned about the yellowing of those translucent models, but one of those might be too tempting to resist.

    Sincerely, Eric
