My first G-SHOCK with my other CASIO

    Hello all,

I am new here. This is my first G-SHOCK, GW-5600J, purchased in used condition last week. I love it very much!
Here it is shot together with my other CASIO, fx-991MS scientific calculator. A couple of solar-powered CASIO.

    Regards,
    Indera

Congratulations on the square. Your 5600J looks splendid for a second-hand unit. Wear it well.

    A very nice watch!

I used to have a solar powered calculator too, at university, never had to change batteries like some others.

Welcome to the site bud! That looks awesome, at first glance it may resemble the Casio classic digital (they are so cool!) but plain to see it is a mighty G shock!

I still use my old Casio solar calculator as well. Must be close to 20 years old! The frame surrounding the buttons is held on with tape, there's dust in the display, but it still works fine. I've tried to replace it with newer, fancier ones, but I always come back to it. Something about the way the buttons feel.

Re: My first G-SHOCK with my other CASIO

Thank you all for the warm welcome in this forum. :)

I am a mechanical engineer in heavy lifting and moving equipments. Few months ago I scratched my automatic SEIKO when I climbed to the top of a huge pedestal crane. That is why I decided to purchase a G-SHOCK as my beater watch. It was intended for work only, but I end up wearing this GW-5600J everyday, sometimes even when I sleep!

Here is the GW-5600J shot on top of my LEATHERMAN CHARGE Xti, a tool which I always carry with me when I work in the field. A fitting companion for GW-5600J. Both are very tough and reliable tools.
