    My first MTG

I had half a dozen G's lined up to bid on this morning. The plan was to try to win one of them. They all ended within 5-10 minutes of each other. Each one had bidding activity and I had to let 5 of them go because things were getting out of hand. I was able to land one of them though, my first MTG. I haven't really been actively looking for an MTG but when I saw this one, I was intrigued, something about the dial just did it for me. I reviewed similar models on mygshock (510, 512) and out of all the available versions this was my favorite. The MTG 511-4A:

It even came with 2 extra links and pins, which I may need for a proper fit, as well as the box. There were only two 511's made, this one and one with a blue dial. They were from around 2001. It has the 2389 module which I haven't found much info on yet, and I don't know if the manual is included, but it seems very similar to the 2339 anadigi module found in my MRG 131.
This purchase is a departure from my usual tendency towards titanium when it comes to metal G's, but what're you gonna do. I'm thinking the integrated plastic in the case, lack of a screwback, and the smaller overall dimensions might keep the weight down some. Going to be a week or 2 before delivery but I'll do another post when it arrives. Happy Sunday gents.

Would be interested to know the strength of the EL too. I love ana/digi watches, but wish that Casio gave more of them a 'second' hand, even if all it did was to indicate the seconds - I just like seeing a sweeping hand on a watch!
Never argue with an idiot - they'll only bring you down to their level and win from experience...

Sure thing, I'll include a light pic after I receive it. My MRG131 light is just for the digital display and it's plenty bright, unlike the MRG130's. Not sure if the MTG has a full dial light or what, I'll be looking for online pics of the MTG 510/511/512 today though to try and find out.

    Re: My first MTG

Okay gents, the MTG arrived today! The listing pictures I posted previously are better than any I can take, but here are a few more.

The dial is very nice. It's sort of a light rose gold or copper metallic shade with many fine perforations throughout with a positive digital display. It's about 44mm across from 9 to 3, about 40 from button to button. I'm ok with those dimensions as I'm not the large watch type. It is heavy at 141gm or just under 5 ounces. Almost as heavy as my two DW5000's which weigh in at 147 gms.

In typical MTG fashion there is some plastic involved, on the left and right side of the bezel, on the bottom half of the case and near the lugs. The rest of the watch and bracelet is SS. Caseback is held with 4 screws and it has the rubber bumper thingy's to keep it secure on the wrist.

The light is good, the whole dial lights up, and only the digital digits light up which is unusual for a positive. There is lume on the hands as well but not the hour markers.

It's similar to my MTG131 in design, although the MRG is lighter at 98gms being titanium, there is no plastic anywhere, it doesn't have the bars, and it's a screwback. The MRG131 has the 2339 module, which seems to be identical the the MTG's 2389, the only difference I can find is the MRG's whole dial doesn't light up.

It's what I'd hoped it'd be overall. Compact, solid, attractive. A 15+ year old beauty. Ferg

Awesome! I really dig the EL. Why can't the newer analogs have that?

I love the light on older analogs too. Battery hogs perhaps?

The dial is definitely eye catching and very different for a G. Not for everyone perhaps but hey, I'm the one who'll be looking at it all day :)
