My G-Shock debut (**pics 56k warning**)

    Hello Casio G-Shock forumers,

I've been reading these forums since February after a mate of mine showed me his G-9000MS and I fell in love with G-Shock. Since then I did a quick browse through these forums to see what else I like (as I haven't even yet purchased a Mudman that set off my affection for G's) and decided I liked the GW-5000B mainly because of its cult following and the simplistic and stealthy design.

I did a search on eBay and came across a used one (having eventually given up after desperately searching Google for a brand new one to no avail) and saw just one for sale. I had to take it straight away, even though I'd never purchased an G-Shock in my life. I should also add that I first admired G-Shock when I was a kid but couldn't afford one as a could my parents buy me one.

It was a bit of a wait for the GW-5000B as it was coming from overseas so in the mean time I had a look for my next purchase. My mate who introduced me to Casio G-Shock using the Mudman, recommended the MIMB Riseman and for me it was love at first sight. The stealthy/tooly/hightechy/futuristicy look of the MIMB Riseman was sublime in my books. I pulled the trigger after a bit of umming and ahhhing but the "FINAL STOCKS! !Will be discontinued soon" in big red text slathered on Chino watch's website was enough to tide me over.

I needed one more G-Shock I felt, as I wanted one that would take the heat off the other two so I was looking for a good beater. That's when I came across info from the Casio G-Shock forums of the DW-6600 being a popular choice amongst military etc. Having an interest in military watches (hence the username) I decided this was going to be my next G purchase and managed to find a non "C", as I found wasn't too keen on the G being in the background of the screen. I pulled the trigger from Bodying and got it within 4 days.

So without waffling on, here are some of the pics of my entry into the world of G-Shock.

I just drooled on my keyboard.... my MIMB riseman should be here any day now. I had to settle for the positive display GW-5000 and I love it, but at the same time am so verrrry envious of you.

    Good taste my friend

Thanks for the kind words guys.

DannStarr you will absolutely love the MIMB Riseman. I personally don't use the functions on it but man it is one handsome rugged watch.
As for your GW-5000, I'm jealous of you too!
