My GA 110 went out of whack. What happened?

Hi, can you help me? When I looked at my GA 110, it was in the "sub reset" position. Both the speed hand and the hour and minute hands were completely out of whack. The time and all the settings for DST, time zone, date, etc, were also off, as if they had never been set.

I was able to reset everything, and the watch is set up completely and is working fine, but what happened? How did my watch go completely out of whack?

A strong magnetic field can probably do that and the wearer can not perceive that he's passed near to it. Or a shock so strong that the battery loses momentarily contact but this is unlikely in a G-Shock.

Thank you. What are the most common types of magnetic fields an ordinary civilian like myself can encounter? It is very disconcerting that my trusty, faithful GA 110 should let me down like this.

A powerful electric motor (Prius?), a radio transmitter/repeater, even a not well closed microwave oven. We are literally surrounded by electromagnetic fields but usually they are not too strong and they decrease with the distance from the source. But if you leave your watch beside the door of a microwave oven that is not completely closed ...

I thought that it says "ANTIMAGNETIC" in the back?

The GA-110 is one of the models that are antimagnetic so I doubt that it was something magnetic that made it do this. Most likely this is caused by a bad battery, heavy vibrations/shock or a combination of the two. But if you have bad luck then the module might be faulty. If this issue returns I would recommend changing battery as the first thing to try.
