My grail MRG-121 plus a new froggie

    It's been a good week.

The frogman arrived 1st. completely new but no box. Doesn't matter as it's getting worn. I've sold a couple of frogs before and got sellers remorse. I always liked the DW-9900 and managed to snag this one from ebay. The bead blasted titanium finish is also way nicer than the polished finish on the last one i had.

I also received the MRG-121. A fully analogue, fully stainless steel hunk of late 90s awesomeness. I got the watch, links, 2 spare batteries and the original box for £40 including shipping. Pretty good deal i reckon.

It doesn't do much (the bare minimum for a watch) but i love it.

I've been looking for one ever since i saw one on this forum when i joined a year ago or so.

It's used but looks good in the flesh. My new camera makes the few scratches look terrible but you can honestly barely see them with the naked eye. (on a side note does anyone know if a brillo pad or similar will remove the abrasions and take it back to a brushed finish?)

It's been a very good week.

Nice catches. I like the face pattern on the MRG. As for re-finishing, I would discuss with a jeweler before I went at it. It is easy to mess up (experience), and hard to fix.

I really like that MRG, nice catch! That's the one where the backlight looks like a grid of tiny blue LED's, right?

Yep, lots of little greeny-bluey lights. Hard to take a photo of though

Sweet MR-G!! I don't have that one yet. I'm looking to get the MR-Gs with the crown guard on right and not on the left.

    I got one, too!

Isn't the manual a bit of a joke? Especially after reading the Frog manual.

I like your frog. I really like your frog

£40 for the MR-G seems like an excellent price. Good score. As to the scratches, I did a stainless bracelet with a brillopad, and it took all the scratches out. Looked like new. BUT....you've got angles, the crystal etc to contend with. If it was mine, I'd do it, but carefully. Very, very, carefully.
