My GW7900B has just died - suggestions?

I've had my beloved GW7900B now for just over 3 years. This morning on putting it on in rotation, I noticed the screen was totally blank, nada, nothing. I kept it out in the light all day hoping it would spark back to life, but it hasn't. No amount of pressing buttons singly, or in combination sparks anything on the dial whatsoever. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure you mean by "out in the light", but direct sunlight is the best. Outside or however you can do it.

How long since you wore it and what was the state of charge when you checked it last?

It could be that it just needs charged.

But until you give it a lot of sun there's no reason to check into it further.

'Out in the light' means I had it sitting on a window sill. Unfortunately, I live in the UK, so don't expect any real sunshine till next April (if we're lucky!) LOL I'll just keep it sitting in the window, can't do any harm. Last wore it about 3 weeks ago, and it was perfect, but to be honest, never took any notice of the level of charge it had...

Thats rare, haven't seen that happen in a while... I would imagine its bad connection, either battery shifted or low battery. But its strange, 3 years old and this happens...

Give it some sun (as much as you can these days of course) and let us know.

there has been reports of this module's faulty operation - quickest fix would be taking out the battery, to make breakfast, eat it - put back the battery, AC reset - if don't work, get new battery

I had the same problem but it was a faulty module.

I opened the watch and bent the metal tab of the light which was in constant contact with the module and battery was drained. If the breakfast trick did it for you then ok. If the problem continues try replacing the battery and then what I wrote above.

Well, after 5 days of sitting in the window, the UK winter sunshine still has my watch on 'M'! Still, gives me an excuse to show off it's new leather zulu strap :)

Well after 4 weeks sitting in a UK winter window, my watch finally hit 'H' charge this morning!! So, there we have a definitive formula, 4 x weeks UK winter light = 20 minutes of California sunshine!
