My new DIY watch stand holds straps and bracelets!

I spent about an hour at Home Depot looking for just the right combo of PVC, pipe insulation and fittings to make up my new take on a DIY G-shock stand! I was very lucky to find a 1" PVC pipe plus this gray closed cell foam insulation that is self adhesive to close it up makes about the same size diameter as my wrist. This stuff has just enough tackiness to hold the watches from flipping around the bar and you can easily slip on the bracelet models for convenient charging and syncing by a window. For 20 bucks all in I am pretty proud of it but my wife thinks I am a bigger dork then ever now!
Test fit a bunch of G's I had downstairs tonight that are on the chopping block from my collection so they will hang onto it for the pictures... all my keepers are upstairs and inaccessible at this moment. I also am going to fill the base with sand so it's more difficult to tip over. I may even screw/glue a round painted piece of composite board to it I have left over from the deck I built to give it more stability.

What does everyone think? Thanks for the inspiration all you PVC watch stand builders. I haven't seen one quite like this yet!

Wow, what a cool idea, but there is such limited room to hang clothes around.

A watch stand would be too much in my opinion.
The MTG is retired and the 5600 too. Right now, the only working G-Shocks that I use and enjoy are the Riseman GW9200-1 and the GW6900-1

If I can own a Rolex Submariner I would. I know they are tough too, their homages are tough. Trust me.

Very cool, I have the same design but meant for a dresser or stand.
    I'll post some pics sometime.

It's a watch tree. Even better than a Christmas tree.

At first I thought it was a pogo stick, which would make a cool display I guess.
