I've received a riseman like that.
I've put it in a small plastic sealable box with hot water and soap and shook it a few times. Did this till most of the dirt was gone.

as for me when i received a used baby-g, i took everything apart. disassemble the bezel and the band and soak it in sink with warm water and soap. i used toothbrush to scrub away dirt and scums. let it dry and it look like new again.

    Thanks for that.
Unfortunately it seems to be more than just a battery needing replacing.
I put a new one in and it just came up with 187 on the screen. seems like some sort of error.

does it mean anything to anyone?

As the great Sjors mentioned in his tutorial,

Now the module needs to be reset. Use the sharp point tweezers to conect the AC contact with the back of the battery.

    Awesome.

Its going. Thanks for the help.

I'd actually taken to the shop to have the battery done and they told me it was no good. Now I've done it myself for less than half the price.

Its looking good now its on and the grim has gone.
