    My new G-Rescue GW-7900B

I have a very beat-up Frogman DW-9900-1B from ~02 that I try to take it easy on, so the daily driver G was a tough solar G2300B-1. Unlike the typical toughness of a G Shock, the G2300B-1's retainer for the velcro strap broke early into ownership, which I didn't mind but after taking a tumble in a wave, allowed for the strap to become un-done and now the watch is gone. I really miss it, and almost bought another but decided to take this opportunity to try another Gshock out that has more features.

    Here is my new GW-7900B.

I'm pretty happy with it so far, but it doesn't feel like a Gshock for some reason... I suppose because it is not as 'overbuilt' looking as my last G or the Diveman.

I am really liking the new features though, such as atomic time and the negative display, and that I kept the solar power feature. The tide feature will be handy if I decide to stay in the Navy reserve community that I am in (small boat units).

What do you mean it doesn't feel like a G-Shock? This, to me is a perfect G. The model is relatively newer than the old names, maybe that's why it doesn't feel like a G to you. This is the watch that actually got me addicted to G-Shocks.

Just doesn't have the "buffness" or rugged look I was used to with my outgoing tough solar. It's strap screws are no where NEAR the size as my frogman's.

But I do like how feature packed it is! It is growing on me.
