My new lap swimming specific G Shock GD-110-7DR

    Hi all
I recently was complaining that I wished G-Shocks stop watches could save lap times as otherwise I thought they were not very useful.
Kev55 was nice enough to point out that G-Shock has the GD-110 line with a 60 lap memory function

Not being one for negative displays my only real choice was the GD-110-7 in White but...
While not a negative display it is almost as bad as one. Mainly because it is a mirror/chromed face.

But it is not too bad & since this is really a single purpose watch for lap swimming
all I need is to be able to recall the times later out of interest & that will be at leisure.

This is actually a very nice unit & if it came in a nice crisp positive display it would be
something I would wear many days.

The digits are large & the functions useful. Also although it does not have world time function
it does have a dual time function. That will work well for me as I only need two times...Here in Thailand & Hawaii

The recall process for looking at laps is very easy to use & one touch of the A button to start new laps
is also easy. I am looking forward to getting back in the pool with this one. Anyone who does laps of anything
knows it is nice to have the info but also helps break up the boredom

One other thing is being a mirrored unit + glossy strap I had planned from the start to swap to
a matte strap/bezel I already have a few to choose from & have started with Orange as I have no orange G's

Also if you look at the face it does have orange lettering & a orange ring under the white ring.
So the orange resin goes well I think with that as well as the white function buttons

well done, Flying. You know i'm a whiter than white fan and this looks fantastic, but it's amazing how you spotted the orange trim around the eye. The orange clothes look truly magnificent, particularly with the black rim around the face and black lettering. I had a feeling that the mirror LCD maybe problematic but seems fine in your situation. Congrats on a very underrated watch and great mod. and great photos.

The white is so-so to me, but the orange... WHOA!!! If you didn't say that you changed the bezel then i would've guessed that's how it comes from the factory. Enjoy it!!!

Thank You Kev & thank you for the suggestion of this watch for this purpose

The lap function is quite intuitive & in the way it stores records it gives you options of putting all 60 laps in
one log or even putting 10 laps in 6 logs etc depending on what sequence you use the buttons etc.
Also very intuitive to later read the logs & delete them if you wish

Also that dual time is a nice touch if World Time is not available.

Yes I really love white too....But when I saw that orange ring + the orange lettering of Dual Time, Water 20 Bar & also the Lap/Spl all in orange
I thought this might look nice. Also orange or red is swimming colors where I come from for all life guards etc heheh
I actually think Black would look good too

Your right about the mirror & it is slightly problematic but a slight tilt of the watch makes it all very clear for surprisingly any angle but straight on

    Thank You Domoon

That is the best compliment when a mod looks good enough to have been a stock G state

hydromod it, or the mirror display won't be that much useful in water

It is not really that bad ...
But also I never actually look at it if swimming laps.
I only want to record the times to look at later.
With each turn I just push a button. I guess I do use a total time also
but that is easy enough either by time or countdown timer

Will see next week & report back

Wow, cool! The orange dress makes it very Baywatch-ish!

    Perfect for swimming!

I went the other way and blackened my GD:
