Recently I picked up this piece that I think is fairly rare. It was listed as used but in excellent condition. I wasn't disappointed when I received it
The engraving on the back indicates this is a DW-069 (the seller listed it as DW-069V-9V), with module 1289 and it was made in China. There's a CE sticker on the back, so likely was originally sold in Europe. I searched the Internet for information on this piece but didn't turn up much. If anyone has information, please do share.
Now I know gold color on a G-Shock can be very divisive - some won't go near it even if it is made of real gold, while others take to it like bees to flowers. Yours truly will go for it if it is nicely done (in my eyes of course).
This is how it was when I received it, with strap adaptors and a gold colored nylon band. The G-Shock name is part of the strap's weaving, which I thought is very nice.
Notice how almost everything is gold toned, including the dial and the lower LCD window. The 3 'eyes' have a blue tint.
However, I picked up this piece because I have further intention for it, albeit a rather simple one. I wanted to swap out the nylon strap for a set of black resin bands. After some minutes taking off the adaptors (including a few minutes lost searching for flying spring-pins), this is the result:
And a wrist shot:
Less in-your-face-bling-y now, and IMHO, perfectly wearable for most casual occasions.
