    My "Royal Purple" Frogman

    Hello all,

Just wanted to share the results of my recent dye job. This is a Glorious Gold Frogman dyed with Purple RIT. I used gold Testor's model paint for the "G-SHOCK" lettering and white model paint for the right and left lettering.

A big thank-you to natornate who advised me on how to remove the buckle:
https://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=200576, and also to those who documented the dyeing and bezel painting mods!

I've given it the nickname of "Royal Purple" because of purple and gold's historical connection to nobility in ancient times.

Let me know what you think!

Excellent job! And I like the "royal purple" nickname, too.

Although, reminds me of grape jam!

That is an awesome good looker! Which reminds me. I have to prepare winegums for some classes (as an experiment) I assume Testor is something similar to Revell model paint?

    Kind regards,

    Sjors

It turned out great. Nice job.

Purple and gold go together well, but I don't thing there's been many G-Shocks with that color scheme.

Thank you all for the kind words! :D

Riley, I was inspired by your creations. Big fan of your website and wiki.

Sjors - Yes, Testor's is enamel paint, it's usually used here in the U.S. for hobbies like model painting, I believe. I think any paint that isn't water-based will do. You probably already know this, but I have read here that nail polish also works very nicely. Comes in lots of colors too!
