    Need explanation please ...

    Hello Folks,

I am a little bit "confusded" so I need some explanation from the G-Shock specalists here in the forum ...

In the moment I am looking for the Mudman from Casio - by searching the internet I found "different" models of the Mudman for example

    this one GW-9010

    or

    this one GW-9300

Both are labeled as Mudman, both have "tough solar and multiband 6" but I always thought that only one model receive the name !?

    Thanks in forward ...

It's like a series name. They are many generations of Mudman.

    Need explanation please ...

AFAIK the latest 4 models (7 variants) that can be still found in the market are:

    G-9000 (basic)
    GW-9010 (solar only)
    GW-9010 (solar + atomic)
    GW-9025 (solar only)
    GW-9025 (solar + atomic)
    GW-9300/9330 (solar only)
    GW-9300/9330 (solar + atomic)

If it has the "GW" (like GW-9300) denomination it's atomic; the regular version, without the Multiband 6 or 5 feature, is always just "G" (G-9300).
    Cheers!

IMHO opinion, the 9300 is one of THE best G-Shocks Casio ever released, so you just can't go wrong with any of them .
I'm severely prejudiced against negative display models, so the black one is totally out for me. The Dolphin & Whale is a bit too hey!-here-I-am for my tastes, and therefor it's out too. So of those three, I personally would go with the 30th Anniversary model.

9300 is such an improvement over the past mudman watches it should have been its own family. It really has little in common with other mudman watches except the mud resist features

You could say the same in regards the AW-570 to the DW-8400 to the G-90xx. I see it as evolution, and IMO it's basically the only series that has really and palpably evolved (maybe the Sky Cockpit would be a kind-of-close second in terms of evolution).
    Cheers!

The Frogman series has shown some evolution as well. Went from being an incandescent light to EL, then added solar and titanium, then went back to stainless steel but added atomic and DLC and a tidegraph

The modern 9200 Riseman is a huge improvement over the early versions that looked like starfish

Gulfman series has had ups and downs, never really shot forward like the others.

6900's... solar and atomic, that's it...

    Re: Need explanation please ...

Sorry, but I'll never (EVER!) forgive Casio for dropping Ti on the Frog, DLC or no DLC . They went backwards there.
The Riseman basically only changed the looks, since though it now has a different module, in terms of AB functions it's exactly the same (and lame) capabilities you had before.
With the Gulfman they basically changed the color of the bezel, and that was it.

I really can't see any line change so much like the Mudman did, style and module-wise.
