Question Need help with module 548 (TW-7000, DW-3000)

I recently acquired a TW-7000, which comes with the 548 module found in a few other Casio watches (like the DW-3000). Unfortunately, no battery was installed, and the unusual plus-sign shaped battery clip was loose inside. I was able to position a new battery in place, but securing the battery clip presented further challenges. I couldn't find a workable way to properly secure the two clip ends, despite thoroughly checking out the back of the module with a magnifier. One position half-worked, but it wasn't totally centered, allowing the battery to slip out. Either there's a necessary piece missing, or Casio made the clip anchor points unreasonably camouflaged.

Does anyone here have a photo of the 548 module showing the battery clip installed? At least if I know what the proper orientation is, I should be able to figure this out... of course, I'm assuming Casio didn't make multiple versions of the 548!

Well, thanks to Brigalow I now have a photo of a proper 548 module:

My battery clip is definitely not this. But, the module is in all other respects the same. I think the seller sent me the wrong battery clip with the watch. Hopefully he still has it (and needs the one he accidentally sent me). Meanwhile, I'll see if another battery clip from a DW-260 fits it.

    Here's what I have:

The clip is actually not hooked to the "proper" anchor points and the battery won't fit like this. I'm wondering if "W650A" is in reference to model W-650, one of the early Marlin models:

Well, I was able to take that incorrect clip and bend it a bit to fit. Thankfully it was a little too large, rather than too small, so that bending it would reduce it enough to fit. Did the old "AC" short and the digits sprang to life. I'm really happy this watch is working now, and after a little Brasso on the metal to buff away surface scratches, it looks pretty decent. It's fine enough to even unseat my old DW-2000 as a vintage CASIO favorite.

I do indeed plan to post pictures and a little write-up, lowtech. I'm presently waiting to finish up on my time adjustments, as it was proving to have about a +15 sec/mo drift. There's a couple of people who frequent WUS that own these, but nobody has provided much more than a brief description and photos. This watch has the 548 module, which is actually quite decent for a vintage movement. There are some interesting things to know about it.

You were definitely helpful, lowtech. There wasn't much to be done in this case. But the saving grace of the situation was that the incorrect clip was extra long, so it could be re-purposed to do the job.

I finally made a brief posting about my now functional titanium TW-7000 with photos, HERE.
