Question Need opinions on 1 Yellow and 1 Pink watch

Got bit by the G-bug AGAIN.

Need advice/opinions about these certain models. I found them at reasonable prices in the Bay.

I need only 1 yellow watch and 1 pink watch. Please help me choose.

What do you guys think of these models?

I read somewhere that matte yellow gets stained more easily than glossy ones. Is this true?

I am not much into yellow due to the staining issue, however my preference is for the second pink model.

Yes, the matte resin in yellow will pick up stains from fabrics that can "bleed", or color transfer much easier than the glossy resin. If it were me, I would pick the DW-6900 and the GLS-8900.

I would get both the 6900's. If you don't want 2 6900's then yellow 6900 and pink 8900 like Rocat and CCCP said as well..

that gls-8900 i got a modded version of it, was a gift from a friend:

    DW-6900 (yellow)
    GLS-8900 (pink)

I will clarify my stand with the GLS-8900. I would put on matte black resin. I have thought of this purchase many times as the pink one is the cheapest to buy and then the resin from pac parts.

Re: Need opinions on 1 Yellow and 1 Pink watch

On the choices I will leave them to you We are all so different in what
we might think is nice. I will say though sometimes you can also think a little outside the box
& look for a color...in this case yellow & pink...as a secondary color against a contrasting base color.
That may give you even more options

On the matte versus gloss issue I always go matte 90+% of the time

I have never had any staining issues personally. I do wear long sleeves at times on the motorbikes.
Pants are 99% of the time Blue Jeans & again no staining from hand in pocket brushing jeans etc.
All this bleeding folks talk about I have never experienced myself

Here are my DW6900's & they are all Matte

Good luck the search is half the fun

Re: Need opinions on 1 Yellow and 1 Pink watch

i have been eyeing the 8900 for a while now, but in my opinion it's not pink enough, it's kindda dirty pink while I want it in baby pink like the classic 5600 lover collection - besides the display is not pink - but it is not a problem now since we discover GEL film

as for a yellow Gshock, there are plenty out there, but nothing more yellow than those 25th and 30th anniversaries - and I am sure money is not your concern at all

Gotta love yellow and pink! Right?

I have the GA-310-4A that I call my Mr Pinky2 model and I just love wearing it during summer, so playful and it is the most pink G-Shock ever released, the only true neon pink one. Not very practical though when it comes to the digital time since the digits are not visible in the dark but thankfully this watch comes with dual LED's and the analog time can be read during dark hours, no problem.

    I just love mine...

So my choice for pink is the GA-310 model. That 8900 model is more fuchsia, which is also nice in bright light but looks duller almost towards purple in regular room light and that display is rather colorless in contrast to the resin. The 6900 model is very nice with a nice polarized face plate so it would be my second choice.
As for the yellow choice. I have a feeling that you are looking for something very bright and that Bumble bee GA-100 model is a darker yellow bordering on mustard yellow so not recommended if very bright is what you are looking for. That 6900 model in the Polarized series is bright and has a very nice looking face plate. But my preference would be that GA-400 that I think looks better. However you should also have a look at the yellow GA-110BC-9 model which is also very nice and bright and I love mine:

Also another suggestion would be the 30TH anniversary models. If you have the money at $500+ go for the Lightning Yellow GW-9430E-9 Rangeman:

    Love it!

But if that one is a bit rich have a look at the GD-X6930E-9 in the same series. Can be found around $150-$180.
