I'm enlisting in the Army soon and need a good, durable watch for basic (two, actually) so naturally I started looking into G-Shocks. The G9000-3V caught my eye because of the negative LCD and the subdued colors.
I've read some negative reviews about the negative LCD and to be honest, they are warranted. In low light, it's difficult to read at some angles but hitting the light quickly resolves that problem. That being said, I really like the negative display and think the legibility in low light (or lack thereof) is a worthwhile trade off for such a neat looking display.
Here's a quick picture of the Mudman 3V on my wrist and another next to my titanium Citizen Skyhawk (which has been my daily watch for 4 or 5 years now). My apologies for the crappy pictures; I'm not much of a photographer.
