    good morning,

thanks for a very informative site. My name is Pieter and have had Casio's for a couple of years. I am in no way a collector, rather an accidental shopper.
My collection consists of a Gaussman, Frogman (Red tripple crown), Gulfman on it's way, 2 x PRG's and a SPF. I love the red frogman, it just looks so different.

    Later

    Pieter

    Hi Pieter,

Welcome to the G-Shock forum. It looks like you have been bitten by the BIG Pro Trek and G-Shock models.

    Cheers,

    Sjors

    good evening,

Thanks for the welcome. i like the idea of an accidental collector HEHEHE. Yea, I like the big watches and the older look g-shocks. I fancy the idea of a 'man' collection ie gaussman, frogman, gulfman and so on.

    have a good weekend

    Pieter

    Hi Pieter,

I think more of us are accidental collectors. I bought 1 in 2000 because my Timex went dead and I wanted tougher watch with a embedded display, because I always had scratches on the crystal, most of the time from day #1. I found a shop in a nearby town and liked the colors. It was a tough desicion which model to take, but after I bought the first one, I bought the other a month later too. Then I found a Gaussman in a sale and a nice DW-003 BPM watch (I was still a DJ at that time). I think it didn't stop anymore after that. The counter is at the moment around 270...

It took me a long time to complete the -man series as you call them. In October I got my first Antman, which completed the series for me. If you want to know all the Master of G models, check out that section on my site.

    Cheers,

    Sj:-Drs

    hallo Sjors,

The gaussman was my first bite into the g-shock world. i bought it needing a watch that is mud proof and tough enough to go though fishing, 4x4 ing motor-x and other outdoor activities. Most of my watches are bought to be used: ie the PRG for the compass and the barometer and the SPF for the yacht timer. My reason for the gulfman if the sunrise/sunset times. The next one will be a nice Riseman.
    all excuses I know.

    Pieter
ps i saw an antman for the first time today
