New member saying Hello (and a question)

Let me first say hello to everyone.

This looks like a great site and a great forum dedicated to Casio watches.

I started wearing a Casio G-Shock back in 1986. It was one of the only watches tough enough to survive the climate extremes and abuse of the 29 Palms Marine Corps Base. Going from the dry desert heat of 120+ degrees to an air conditioned building of 78 degrees killed lots of weaker watches.

I currently have a G-Shock MTG930DA-8V (which needs to have its battery replaced ) and my daily use is a PAW1300T-7V (which I love ).

    Now to my question...

I'm looking for a higher end classy watch with the following features:

    - Dual Analog/Digital Display
    - Atomic Timekeeping
    - Solar Powered
    - Titanium (or Stainless Steel) Body
    - Stainless Steel Band
    - The usual bells & whistles (stopwatch, alarm, timer, etc)

The following would be nice but are just optional wishes:
    - Triple Sensor (Compass/Barometer/Altimeter)

So far, the best Casio I've found is the GW1200BA-1AV. It has pretty much everything I am looking for. It's just not quite classy enough in the looks department.

What I'd REALLY love is the watch pictured at the top of this page! That is the BEST dual analog/digital display I've seen so far! If it came on a titanium/stainless steel banded watch with solar & atomic timekeeping it would RULE!

Unfortunetly, after searching the Casio site, I found that the watch pictured above is most likely just the G300-3AV, which lacks many of the features I want and doesn't look NEARLY has good on the Casio website has it does above.

If Casio had a titanium or stainless steel watch with all the features I listed, with the black dual analog/digital face pictured above...

    OH YEAH!

Maybe the Oceanus line would fit the bill?

    Welcome, Snape!
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

Re: New member saying Hello (and a question)

Thank you all for the welcome and the suggestions.

    Buzzbait, that MR-G looks Nice!

While I'm not crazy about the price () it does look great. Where can I buy one online? I haven't been able to find in on anyplace like Amazon and while that SeiyaJapan site is VERY NICE, I'm not familiar with it.

    Thanks again to everyone.

I get the feeling that this site is going to cost me A LOT of money!!

Still got that old workhorse from 1986? Might be worth some coin now, depending on the model/condition. Replacing the bezel/band/battery is easy and it probably still works. Find it and show us a pic...
