New owner of a GW 9010-1ER mudman!! (help!)

    Hi all,

I received my first Casio watch yesterday and I'm liking it very much!!
I currently own 2 watches: an Omega Speedmaster Professional and now a Casio GW-9010-1ER Mudman.
I think those 2 cover all my activities

The watch arrived with the correct time and time zone already set (even DST!), so that was a nice surprise. The sync G was missing however...

I read a thread about how badly they sync, but it synced just fine when I did a manual sync in the street on my way home yesterday. I played with it a bit further at home and the G had gone from the indicator window because I messed around with the settings a bit. This morning the G was back so even auto sync next to my bed (away from the window!) is going just fine. No worries there I would think...

I like all the features on the watch, but I'm still trying to figure out the rally timer. Is it possible to set the auto count down before the timers begins to run? I know you can skip it by pushing a button, but can you set the time as well??

Display is easy to read, alarm is loud enough to wake me up, very light watch (especially when coming from an Omega all metal watch!).

Bottom line, I love it! A very symmetric watch with nice features and hopefully very robust.

I know what you're saying, but I couldn't find any way to set the Auto-Start. It's a cool feature, but the duration is completely random.

A question I'm more than happy to answer!!

Here are 2 pics, but taken with an old cell phone... Sorry about that, but I don't have the camera here.

    Hope you like it anyway!

If you want to see more pics/reviews of the speedmaster, visit the Omega forum. It's a fun place to hang out and the people are there are really friendly and open minded. Most (if not all) love watches, not just Omega!

    All the best!

I love the Speedmaster Professional. It is one of my all time favorites.

    Hi,
to answer your question - I needed about two days of wearing it to figure it out btw - the auto-start countdown of the rally timer is tied to the seconds counter in the normal time-keeping mode so that every rally timer operation starts on the full minute - it's because of rally regulations that start each car on the full minute. So it can't be changed but it isn't random either.

    Greetings, Sedi
    Cheers

    Thanks for the proper answer!

I would have never figured that out.
