New Quad-Sensor Bluetooth Pro Trek, PRT-B50

I think this hasn’t been posted yet. Here’s an interesting article about the new Quad-Sensor Pro Trek models, PRT-B50. Link: https://news.mynavi.jp/article/20190731-869381/

Casio recently seems to push the lower priced range, which I find very commendable!

The display is way too busy for me. Still like the old digital only models better.

I like the arrow hands on these, but the minute and second hands could be longer. Hopefully they'll come out with solar versions at some point. The orange one ("khaki") in the article reminds me of the Maharishi Mudmaster.

This is an interesting feature ...

"Like the GG-B100, it is battery-powered and not solar, but it does have a battery level indicator."

I'm probably only interested if its stainsteel or metal kinda looks childish to me . also for protreks and with quad sensor I'd say full digital is more practical .

Re: New Quad-Sensor Bluetooth Pro Trek, PRT-B50

"The new PRT-B50 and PRT-B50FE are the latest models in the evolution of the PRO TREK line, and they are packed with features that make them even easier to use for outdoor activities. The new watches are equipped with quad sensor — three sensors that detect compass bearing, barometric pressure/altitude, and temperature, plus an accelerometer for counting steps. They also come with Smartphone Link functions, linking to the PRO TREK Connected app on a smartphone using Bluetooth® to offer a host of functions that support outdoor activities. These include a location indicator that shows the direction and distance to a destination saved to the app, automatic time adjustment, tracking of calories burned, which is calculated based on step count and altitude data, and trekking logs.

For improved usability, the user can set the watch modes from the app, including turning modes on or off, and changing the sequence in which modes appear on the display. This allows the user to customize the watch display according to how the watch is used; just choose to display only frequently used functions, such as timers and alarms, or change the display sequence."

I think it's a part of Casio smartwatch strategy and i think it's a beautiful and useful combo of functions (60 min countdown seem strange but nobody perfect).

It makes far more sense in current market and far more useful than regular Protrek.
It's the one which is actually useful. If given a choice solar without BT and additional functionality and this one i would of opted for this one if all outdoor functions were on my shopping list.
Occasional gazing at barometric pressure do not count as outdoor use.
Looking forward for solar model too!
