This one looks really promising. I like the tweaks they did to the display. I think I'm going to have to pick up one of these.

Layout is much neater and logical than the non-atomic version

    Nice...

Looks good but I don't care for negative displays. Bothers me that they reduced the size of the moon phase window too. Also, the G-7900 isn't even available in the US, now they have this? Takes forever to get an atomic Frogman and this model they put standard and atomic out on top of one another, WTH!

To add insult to injury making the moon phase smaller was to make room for one of those marginally functional eyes, lame. Looks nice though (most negatives do but reading the time is too hard for me). If only the moon window was the bigger of the two.

I wonder if it'll be nearly $1200 like the new Frogman is in China.

I agree. I think the display if large enough might be easier to read than the other negative displays. my sons mudman is cool but I cant read it either. The photos allways make it look brighter than it is

This does look good though and comparing it to the Frog is bound to happen

If they have positive display version of this model and I like the standard 7900 that is on its way to me I might be interested but I'm thinking I'll be happy enough with the standard model.

where's the emoticon for stunned and confused blinking?

is this the first time that the atomic and non-atomic "versions" of the same model number have been so different? why in sweet heaven's did casio replace the double-stopwatch status area (cool idea!) with the rotating eye? perhaps this one doesn't have dual stopwatches?

and while the g 7900 isn't exactly a 'tidy' display, i liked the discrete alarm indicators on the lower left, which like the stopwatch bars seemed new and useful. and the 'older' style tidegraph of the g 7900 is frankly much easier for me to read than this one (as shared with the new frog).

the design of the two in many ways makes me think of casio ca 1995 and casio ca 2011. i do like the deep black and the different top-facing screws, though. and of course the atomic sync.

    Well, I'd say "nope".

The 9000 and 9100 series are completely different in the G and GW versions, too. The GW-6900 is IMHO just what an atomic solar Gulfman should have been like.
