    New tin vs. old tin

so the new G-Shock tins must be REALLY new, because my black GX-56 came in the new black tin, and then the orange GX-56 i got a month later came in the classic olive/red tin.

personally i think the colors on the old tin are ugly as sin comsidering the quality of the watches they come with. the new black/red ones look slick and futuristic, just like the watches they carry. plus they are smaller than the old ones, less room taken up on the dresser.

what say you, WUS? new, old, or do you have a favorite collab tin?

I like the look of the new one better too. The hexagon shape and glossy black finish look cool. The white 25th Anniversary tins were nice too.

Just a quick question, where do they put the manuals in the new slim black tin?

There's no room for the manual inside the new tin. They put it in the cardboard box, sitting on top.

I'm a fan of the new design as well, I like the compact hexagon shape and the black paint.

it's not really new as it is more of a revival. I remember the old DW Master of Gs sold in the hex nut shaped boxes. They also weren't tin, they were plastic boxes

hex nut. might not be very significant in the casual world, but I work with the stuff all the time and hate it when I asked for more hex bolts and the clueless assistant brings me the nuts instead.

    Ha ha,

I was searching for that word for quite some time when I wrote that Mudman article ("the hex nut eye") since I figured out that a bolt was a...a bolt.
