    newbie here

Hi new member here. I have not worn a Casio in sometime, actually since the mid 90's probably, I had a 5600G shock I think. It's still here somewhere probably in the house, since then I have owned Seiko and a cheapo Relic which actually was a nice watch. Past couple of years, just been using the cell device more and more to keep tabs on basic things such as date and time..and have been watchless for nearly 2-3 years.

I had a wild hair the other day, and went into a store to browse current time pieces. This GSHOCK GW-530A took my eye, with 25% off, plus a store coupon for 30% more..i bought my jacket and new watch on a whim. I must say im impressed with the new Casio watches for the money. It's good to see the G shock line is still tuff, or at least it feels "Tuff" from when i was younger, i beat the hell out of that old one..and it probably still works. the Atomic and solar is sweet.

    Anyway thats it..

one last thing I was looking at torture test videos online with these watches

has anyone attached there's to a fishing pole, and lowered it into the ocean or lake to say 400 ft or more, to test that?

    might be something for Mythbusters

Welcome to the forum xsmatt81. This guy took one down 318 metres.

Casio G-Shock used in world record dive!

Nuno Gomes recently claimed the Guinness Book of Records Deepest seawater scuba dive (men) title.

Nuno has dived to a depth of 318.25 meters in the Red Sea using a Casio G Shock watch – this is the deepest a human ( and a G Shock ) has dived !
To find out more about this amazing dive visit Nuno's web site. http://www.nunogomes.co.za/

    haha

I would need to rent a boat, might aswell fish. Lake mead get's pretty deep, avg is 200 feet, up to 1500+ feet. Not really sure, I don't dive so...

I bet a fish would come and grab it before it got to far.

Btw i found that old G shock, the bat is dead of course. Will see if i can revive it, thing is more then 15 years old, looks pretty good though, few scuffs. Will get some pics up

    Hi XS Matt,

Welcome to our G-Shock Forum! 400ft? It must be not too hard for a G-Shock. You might catch this there. A colleague of me went deep sea fishing this summer. Here is his catch, it came from 300 ft.

    Cheers,

    Sjors
