    Newbie needs help

    Hello to all!!!

I'm Dennis from the Philippines :)

I'm actually trying to start my own collection. Acquiring old G-SHOCK models. Mainly because these models aren't copied (that much).

Recently acquired my first G-SHOCK, a used AW-5103B-US.

I'm about to acquire a new one. I'm actually looking at two G's but I can only buy one (sadly because my wife will kill me if I buy both). Can you help me decide?

    Welcome kabayan!

Both are very good models to start with, but I also choose the DW5600E simply because of the iconic shape, and you can also probably get it for less than the 6600.

I have to warn you, though: now that you're here in enabler territory, not even a homicidal wife can make you stop collecting Gs.

Thanks rockmastermike, jersterca and kababayan Bogeyman.

I'm actually just getting your thoughts on which one would get most votes.

    Both have the same price.

Tried to post a poll but failed :) hehehe

I actually acquired my first G from another Collector.

My personal choice would be the DW-6600.

My wife already tested my G-SHOCK and failed to wreck it. After doing so, I hid my Swatch Windfall from her :)

Where are you located? One of our members, jkchua, knows some watch stores in Sta. Cruz Manila that sell vintage Gs.

There's also a store in SM North Edsa called Prestige that carries a good selection of classic Gs. It even has the all-metal ana-digi G-Shocks that are not sold in the authorized dealers anymore.
