    Not a G-Shock - Sorry

In the 1980's I bought my first "Casio" (no G-Shock then) - a #1275 made in Korea for approx $30cdn. One lug broke off over the years so I could not wear but it still runs like new. Today I was in Wall-Mart and what do I see but the exact same watch. Well I bought it, now called a #1572 for $20 and made in China. Same watch 20year later! Let you know in 20yrs how this one is working.
    Cheers

I suspect your old watch is almost the same model, not exactly the same.

The illuminator technology was introduced by casio in the mid 90´s.
So your old watch was probalby a lightbulb variancy (which is also available today)

You're correct - my old one had a white light (mid 80's I think)!

I like how they put a spot of a button on the top right, but there isn't one.

Cool workhorse that one! I have the similar F-91W and I like the old-school Casio features such as one-touch 12/24hr switch and the use of "LAP" instead of "split".
The display is really crisp too. Everyone should own one.

I think it would look really odd if they didn't. Nearly bought a similar watch the other day for my Dad to use whilst decorating at work. Found a cheaper analogue Timex instead though :P
