    not too impressed

i know it's Chinese New Year but having purchased a mudman from hkexporter on the 4th February, I have received no communication whatsoever.
no confirmation of purchase, receipt of payment or dispatch.
i emailed them but haven't even received an automated email detailing holiday business hours.

it's putting me off ordering from them in future.

moan over. i feel a little better now

There are 15 days worth of celebrations for the Chinese New Year. Most businesses in Hong Kong will not stop for any other holiday, but they will for the Chinese New Year.

Normally in other asian countries it could last up to 3-5 days where the shutters of all shops are down. But I have heard of other overseas chinese business even having shutters down for the full 15 days.

Don't be put off by them just because of this delay, it is just that the timing of your order is as bad as though you went shopping on 24th Dec. Either your order gets rushed up haphazardly or if it misses the dateline, you will only get your order processed when business reopens.

Yeah, I know how you feel KingEdward, as I have a shipment coming from Taiwan, but the seller also is observing the CNY, so mine isn't going to ship till the 12th. I guess we just have to practice a little patience .

Like BIG G said, this is the worst time to buy something online from Hong Kong.

Think about it this way, the post office in HK would be shut up for a while as well. Come to think of it, none of our HK regular members have been on in a few days at least.

Don't worry too much just yet as this seller is probably on CNY holiday. I went back to work today and most of the businesses around my office were closed! Like the others said be just a little patient!

    Cheers!

I'm in a similar situation. Purchased a G-shock on 2/4/08 and it won't be shipped until today, 2/11/08, and the seller said it will arrive around 2/26/08. That is a much longer time frame that usual. Had I known this up front, I would not have made the purchase.

i ordered some times from hkexporter. mostly the watch arrived after 10 days to 2 weeks. was always a good deal. but look out, they offer the same watch for different prices in their bay shop!

i ordered another casio from a UK seller, and i wait now 3 weeks for it, that never happened with a watch from asia to me. i wont blame him yet, but will post him later, when there is nothing happening to solve this problem.

You should see how the postage system works in Canada - it's not even a holiday, and it takes two or three weeks to send something from L.A. to Vancouver, BC.
