The MTG is retired and the 5600 too. Right now, the only working G-Shocks that I use and enjoy are the Riseman GW9200-1 and the GW6900-1
If I can own a Rolex Submariner I would. I know they are tough too, their homages are tough. Trust me.

Zero..don't care for them at all.
Mine are all maratech zulus. I have gray, low light black, low light olive, black with blue stripe and black with gray stripe. Currently the gray, low light olive and black w/blue are on watches.
Here are some images from past uses...

By nylon bands, do you mean Nato or Zulu straps?
I have a couple of Bond Natos and Maratac Zulus on my mechanical divers, but never on my G-shocks. I prefer the original G-shock straps.

What I like about them most is they don't have a single point of failure. With standard bands if one pin comes out the watch falls off. With the straps I have you must have two failures for the watch to leave the wrist.

I guess that question's directed to my post. For me, G-shock's rubber straps are made well enough, and are soft and comfortable enough compared to most of the rubber dive straps out there. There's no need for me to change them. They don't stink up during the hot months compared to my Nato or Zulu straps due to sweat.
I use Natos or Zulus on my mechanical divers because I don't like the SS bracelets and rubber dive straps they come in.
