    The old and the new

    Hi all,

I came accross this forum last week whilst looking for a new G-Shock. I had some birthday money burning a hole in my pocket so decided to buy a watch I could wear all the time.
I have 2 G-Shock watches now, the original DW-5600 which I purchased whilst living in Australia, and now the GW-9100-1ER.

I hope you like the image of my new and old G-Shocks.

    Very cool.

Is that a screwback 5600c you have there? Desirable watches - it may be worth picking up a spare band and bezel set.

    Very nicely taken!

Which part of Australia did you get the 5600C from?

I find that G-Shocks in Australia are rare and expensive.
No one ever works out and regrets it. You never go for a run, and then when you're finished, wish you would have stayed home. You never climb a mountain, get to the top, and say, "I should have just been content to stay where I was."

Greetings and Welcome to the Forum!

Congratulations on your new G' that's a beauty. The picture is a great comparison of the two different styles.

    Cheers...

Welcome! Both are great watches and you should get years of great enjoyment out of the new one as well! Though I fear it may not end with just that one!!
Experience is what you end up with when you didn't get what you wanted.

Thanks Joker, yes it is a screw back, just had a new battery put in for only the third time since it was bought.

I got the 5600 from Michael Hill Jewellers in Westfields shopping centre in Liverpool near Sydney, foamposite. Luckilly my sister was working there at the time so I got it at a discount.

    Thanks fellas.

EDIT : Sorry foamposite I just read your location so I guess you know where Liverpool is. :)

Thats true Breakwater, I think I have the G-Shock bug now. The funny thing is I watched Speed with Keanu Reeves years ago and saw he had the 5600 same as mine. Then with my birthday money burning a hole in my pocket and wondering what to spend it on I happened to see Speed 2 last week and saw the g-shock watch that Jason Patric was wearing. So my quest for last week was to find a G-Shock and there definately are some beauties out there.

Thanks archer6, I was going to take a photo of just the Gulman but I thought it would look pretty cool with watches about 2 decades apart.
