Casio MDA-100, module 1325.Just had my dinner, suddenly feel a little nostalgic and feel like taking it out for some close up shots and post it here :)
This is my first ever Casio, bought it in 1994 when I was still a teenager. G-shocks were not common in my hometown and they were rather expensive. Still remember my elder brother gave me a ride to town to buy a watch after my old plasticky Alba watch died.
I went around a few shops, too expensive or not to my likings,I wanted a watch with EL and alarm, and finally this caught my eye, tried it out, press the light button, it was LOVE!! and it's within my budget. I still remember that the original albeit ordinary looking black rubber strap, which I dislike, then saw another Casio with the hybrid strap, asked the shop owner, and he said yes he'll swap the hybrid strap to the MDA-100 without extra cost :)
So here it is, after 16 years, it's still functioning fine, screw holes are stripped but Casio Singapore has recently service and tested it to be waterproof under pressure test :) moisture did get into it few years ago when the o ring dried out. The chronograph 1/100 word was originally in blue, but it faded, and I use black marker to write them again, looks better imo. It has uni directional bezel, but extremely tight to turn, it also has 5 alarm tones that you can choose from.
This is the watch that got me into Casio :) Yes I know it's not a G and my wife think it's ugly, but it will always hold a special place in my heart. Maybe this watch has made me somewhat swing towards ana-digis,Hope you guys like the pics.
