Look at the GW-2500, and the GW-3000. Many pictures of both on this site.

They are both great watches, and they both synch regularly in Zürich.

The GW-3000 looks better; the GW-2500 has easier-to-use functionality [IMHO, of course].

I like the GW-1500 too, but I'm also in europe... Casio?

Anyway, have you seen the AWG-100 / 101 variants? On top of this page, and all of those are euro models: http://www.g-shock.eu/euro/lineup/

The AW-590-1AER looks great to me, but it lacks solar and atomic.

    Ouch, that's a tough choise, I think...

I like the looks of both of them, maybe the AWG-101 is sligthly better looking, due to colors and reversed displays, which makes them more discrete. And I also like atomic + solar.

On the other hand, the 590 digital displays are easier to read, and where I live, it's also quite a bit cheaper, like 30% less. Casio claims 3 year on one battery, but if that's as conservative as it often is, it wouldnt surprise med, if it runs 5-6 years on a battery (provided the light aint used more than, say 1-2 times a week. But then again, with the money saved, you can swap a lot of batteries, if you do it yourself
